Court Reinstates RT Hon Abok as Speaker PSHA

Court upholds RT Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly is Honorable Ayuba Nuhu Abok.

Rt Hon Ayuba Nuhu Abok has been appointed Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly once again by the Plateau State High Court in Jos. After a protracted legal battle that began when Hon. Nuhu Abok was impeached in October 2021 by about 8 out of the 24 members of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Justice M. L. Musa of Plateau State High Court 6 rendered his decision.

Nonetheless, in its ruling, the Court affirmed the plaintiff’s arguments that the impeachment was unlawful and hence invalid. The court also granted the defendants’ costs of filing the case against them, which came to N138,000 and N1.5 million respectively.
