Today, traffic on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos will be diverted due to repairs.

On Sunday, April 2, 2023, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, the Lagos State Government will be performing rehabilitation work on the Third Mainland Bridge.

Dr. Fredric Oladeinde, the state’s commissioner for transportation, made the announcement on Saturday, stating that the actions were in response to notification of the Lagos State Public Works Corporation’s readiness to repair the identified failed/peeled asphaltic areas of the bridge.

At the Bridge’s detected failed asphaltic parts, traffic would be switched from one channel to another, according to Oladeinde.

He emphasized that it was necessary to address traffic backups along the bridge during peak hours as a result.

Nonetheless, Oladeinde reassured drivers that the State’s Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, will be fully present to direct traffic and lessen any potential annoyances.

He thus pleaded with drivers to exercise patience as the actions being done are intended to provide everyone with high-quality and secure road infrastructure.
