Plateau Governor-elect, Mutfwang appeals to Gov. Lalong and Nentawe

Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, who won the recently-concluded Plateau Governorship election, has invited Governor Simon Bako Lalong and Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, the APC candidate for governor in the March 18 election, to join him in creating a state that will be more unified, secure, and wealthy.

This was said in a statement provided to Jos news outlets and signed by Yiljap Abraham, the Mutfwang-Piyo Campaign Council’s director of media and publicity.

The declaration reads:

“I invite my brother, Dr. Nentawe, to visit; let’s collaborate. Greater than all of us is the plateau.

“I beg Governor Lalong not to waste his time, but to come and join us in this effort. I have no targets in mind. We weren’t chosen to investigate anyone; rather, we were chosen to make sure that people’s lives improved. And that is our agenda’s main focus.

At a reception to commemorate the eve of the election, Barr Mutfwan made the appeal in a vote of appreciation after collecting his certificate of return from INEC.

He thanked Dr. Patrick Dakum of the Labour Party for calling him and congratulating him quickly after INEC announced that he had won the governorship race. He praised Dr. Dakum for his maturity and brotherhood.

“If somebody claims that this election was rigged, that person is from another planet. We would never have rigged the election, I assure you. This is a vote by the people, for the people and of the people.”

He acknowledged both supporters and opponents of his side.

“The vote has been counted. It is now time to govern. It is time to unite our hearts and consider what is best for the Plateau. How can Plateau be advanced? Every true Plateau person should be concerned about this.
