Caleb Mutfang, the newly elected governor of the Plateau, appeals to the other candidates to work with his administration for a better Plateau.

Barrister Caleb Mutfang, the newly elected governor of Plateau State, has appealed to the candidates from other political parties who ran against him in the recently held election and from which he was declared the victor to work with his government to raise Plateau State to enviable heights.
Invoking the line from the well-known Shakespeare play “Macbeth,” “WHERE SHALL WE MEET AGAIN, WHEN THE BATTLE IS LOST AND WON,” Mutfang argued that there must always be a winner and a loser in every contest and urged those who were unsuccessful in running to join the PDP government in developing the plateau state.

Barrister Caleb Mutfang, the People Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for governor, made the appeal today, March 30, 2023, at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in the state’s Miango Junction, where he was collecting his certificate of return as the new governor of the state.

According to Mutfang, the commission considers the election process to be complete after the certificate of return is presented to each candidate who won the governor or house of assembly elections.
However, he expresses gratitude to God for bringing the procedure to the point where certificates of return are being given to the appropriate winners.
He reaffirmed INEC’s work on the plateau, saying that it had behaved honorably and that that was the reason we were all present today.

He emphasized that his government is utilizing the transition phase to posture itself effectively in preparation for taking over on May 29th, 2023, so that the administration will start off strong.

Mutfang reaffirmed his commitment to uphold the faith the people of the plateau state placed in him by entrusting me with their mandate.
However, he vowed to uphold the pledge he made to the state’s voters during the election campaign, hold it close to his heart, and work with it in order to break the rapid development’s upward trend.
24 members of the state house of assembly, including 16 members of the PDP, received certificates of return along with the newly elected governor.
