Lagos State Government announces an end to the 50% discount on transportation fare

The 50% reduction on all regulated buses’ transportation fares has been discontinued, according to the Lagos State Government.

On February 8, 2023, the discount was declared. The bus fare will return to 100% on April 1st, 2023, and it will halt by the end of March, according to the most recent announcement.

The information was shared today, March 28, through Twitter by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (LAMATA).

LAMATA shared a circular at initially, but it was later removed since the word “public” was spelled incorrectly as “pubic.”

Then it was revised and posted again.

In response to the Supreme Court’s ruling and the Federal Government’s announcement that old notes can again be used alongside new ones, LAMATA declared that the discount, which had been implemented during the cash crunch, will now expire.
