The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), which has offices throughout Nigeria, has announced that it will no longer manually confirm or stamp the certificates of applicants who took the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) between 1999 and the present.
This comes after the Digital Certificate Platform for the testing organization was introduced. To reduce the inefficiencies caused by the manual access and confirmation system, stakeholders and members of the public have been asked to use the digital certificate platform.
Moyosola Adesina, the council’s interim head of public affairs, stated in a statement:
Candidate access, download, and sharing of their original WAEC certificates are all made possible by the WAEC Digital Certificate Platform. The certificates of candidates can also be quickly and securely confirmed by institutions and organizations.
Please take note that any certificates accessible and exchanged via the platform are real and came from the WAEC database.
“We gladly ask that organizations, institutions, agencies, embassies, and high commissions, among others, supply email addresses for the digital distribution, receiving, and verification of certificates.”
