25 Perish, 10 Injured In Bauchi Auto Crash

In a sad accident that occurred in Udubo on the Hadeja-Potiskum route in Bauchi State’s Gamawa Local Government Area, 25 people have been reported killed and 10 injured.

In the lone collision involving a Toyota Hummer Bus, ten other people suffered injuries of various seriousness.

About 4.30 pm on Thursday, the accident took place.

The event was reported on Friday morning by Yusuf Abdullahi, Sector Commander for the Federal Road Safety Corp in Bauchi State.

He claimed that there were 35 people in total, including 19 adult males, 11 adult females, 2 male children, and 3 female children.

He claims that the Hummer Bus’s driver lost control and struck 11 individuals who were hiding out under a tree adjacent to a car wash.

Yes, there was a single deadly accident at Udubo, along the Hadeja-Potiskum highway in Bauchi State’s Gamawa Local Government District. The accident happened yesterday, March 23, 2023, a Thursday.

“The driver whose name is not yet known lost control and ran into some people taking shelter under a tree. You know because the weather is hot, so they were under the tree when some of them were killed.

“A total of 24 people were inside the Hummer Bus while the remaining 11 people were taking shelter under the tree close to a car wash as stated by men of the Nigeria Police Force.

“Immediately we got the information, our men rushed to the scene for a rescue operation and evacuated the victims to the Federal Medical Center, Azare for treatment and confirmation.

“It was there at the hospital that a medical doctor confirmed 25 people-nine male adults, 11 female adults, two male children, and three female children dead. Ten others sustained various degrees of bruises.”

The corpses, he claimed, had been left at the FMC in Azare, where they would later be released for burial while the injured were receiving medical attention.

The head of the FRSC expressed sorrow over the incident and forbade drivers from driving carelessly.
