Kano lifts dawn to dusk curfew

In order to prevent a breakdown in peace and order as a result of tensions brought on by the release of the results of the governorship and state Assembly elections, the Kano state administration has relaxed the dawn to dusk curfew that had been enforced throughout the state.

In a statement sent to Kano’s press media, the state’s commissioner for information and internal affairs, Muhammad Garba, announced the curfew’s removal.

“The decision to suspend the curfew was made after careful analysis of the situation and the relative tranquility throughout the state,” he claimed.

However, the commissioner urged commercial banks, government employees, and residents of the state to show up and carry on with their regular enterprises or daily activities.
