For the release of a woman named Shamsiya and her 16-year-old daughter Mahapuza, who were kidnapped from the Janjala community in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, some gunmen have once again demanded a N2 million ransom and two motorcycles.
The woman and her daughter, as well as her husband Mustapha (seen above), who is reportedly an APC youth leader, were kidnapped by the bandits on February 5, 2023, according to Daily Trust. They were forced to leave their home under threat of gunfire.
However, the bandits released Mustapha and imprisoned Shamsiya and Mahapuza after receiving the N2 million ransom.
The magazine was informed by Samaila Babangida, the Madaki of Janjala and Mustapha’s older brother, that the kidnappers had requested an additional N2 million and two motorcycles in order to release the remaining captives.
He claimed that the robbers released Mustapha on Monday after obtaining N2 million, and that they then instructed him (Mustapha) to raise an additional N2 million and two brand-new motorcycles before releasing the wife and her daughter.
“My younger brother’s wife and her daughter are still being held captive as I speak to you, and they have instructed him to return home and raise an additional N2 million with two motorcycles before they will release the wife and his daughter.
According to Babangida, Mustapha is currently receiving therapy in a hospital as a result of the horrible experience he had at the hands of the bandits.
“How the family will raise an additional N2 million and two motorcycles for these bandits is my current concern,” he continued.
