
The elective members of the House of Representatives were welcomed by the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso, in Kano state.
On Friday, the NNPP members-elect traveled to Kwankwaso to formally hand over their certificate of return to the former Kano governor.
As seventeen of the NNPP’s candidates for the House of Representatives from Kano State gave me their Certificates of Return, it was a joy to receive them.
With the party taking 17 of the state’s 24 House of Representatives seats, the NNPP won the majority of seats in Kano.
On Friday, Kwankwaso shared images of the NNPP Reps candidates on his verified Twitter account.
Upon receiving the winners, Kwankwaso said, “It was a moment of happiness to have welcomed seventeen of our House of Representatives Members-Elect from Kano State, under the platform of the NNPP, as they submitted their Certificates of Return to me.
“With the holding of additional elections in some constituencies. And I’m hoping that our party will keep growing across the nation with the next elections for state assemblies and governorships. I congratulate the newly elected legislators and urge them to uphold the trust placed in them by their constituents, Kwankwaso continued.
Kwankwaso expressed confidence that during the upcoming gubernatorial and state assembly elections, the NNPP’s support will grow in other states of the federation.
The Supreme Court’s decision on Friday gave the NNPP leader additional political clout.
