Battle for Lagos: Sanwo-Olu, Adediran, Rhodes-Vivour retool arsenals
A few Lagosians have endorsed the LP candidate, who has refuted the ethnic stereotypes being used against him.
Although he has received pressure to give up his goals from a number of sources, GRV, as he is affectionately known, is determined to lead his party to victory.
The LP candidate allegedly received an offer of N20 billion to give up his plans, but he rejected the proposal.
It is time for rejuvenation and rebirth in Lagos State, according to members of Omo Eko Pataki Chief Olabode George, a former deputy governor of Lagos State, Senator Kofoworaola Bucknor-Akerele, and Mrs. Onikepo Oshodi, who recently endorsed Rhodes-Vivour.
The group of PDP officials gently supported the LP governorship candidate and asked Lagos citizens to exercise caution before casting their ballots.
“We call on Nigerians to be vigilant of taking yet another incorrect step to vote for the governing APC government in the upcoming governorship election,” said George, speaking on behalf of the group.
Without reservation, we assert that our nation has been beset by growing uncertainties while the APC has been in power. While anarchy characterizes the national scene, there are no certainties anywhere.
“We can’t keep doing things the same way. There is no longer any stabilizing equilibrium in the system. That must be revised. We must work toward rebirth and rejuvenation. Now is the moment for us to undergo an electoral reform in order to modify our perspective.
“We also urge Lagos voters to cast their ballots in opposition on Saturday in large numbers.”
PDP’s boost
In terms of Lagos politics, the PDP has remained a powerful force since the start of the Fourth Republic in 1999.
It has consistently competed with the dominant party. However, the party’s vote power was diminished by Peter Obi’s arrival, particularly in Lagos.
The worst performance in recent memory may have occurred in the presidential poll conducted on February 25.
But, the party’s gubernatorial candidate, affectionately known as Jandor, remains unaffected by the dismal results of the election.
The Council of Eze Ndigbo in Lagos State recently declared him as their chosen candidate for the upcoming governorship and State House of Assembly elections, which gave his campaign a boost.
The state’s Igbo leaders expressed their commitment to helping.
during a gathering dubbed “The Igbo Communities in Lagos Official Endorsement of Dr Abdul-Azeez Adediran (aka Jandor), the Ozoigbondu of Lagos State.”
The Eze NdIgbo, Ikorodu North, David Nwosu, who addressed at the event in the Oshodi-Isolo region of the state on behalf of the council, reaffirmed the council’s support for Adediran.
In front of the roaring mob of Igbo supporters, Nwosu and other present Ezes raised Adediran’s hands and declared, “Eze Ndigbo and Igbo communities in Lagos state embrace Jandor.”
Adediran stated in his statements that the results of the presidential and National Assembly elections were irrelevant and did not concern him.
By this time next week, all of us will be free of the oppressive government that prevents us from breathing when driving or shopping.
“That government’s days are numbered if it releases criminals to harm its population without denouncing them for even a single day. We’ll put an end to their presence in Lagos the following week.
